If one takes a look back through time, there seems to be a constant among those that we deem as Ornithologists. The constant is simply that each notable individual took it upon themselves to illustrate or record the avian world in visual medium. Each notable ornithologist was an artist.

The reasons for this are many, but one sure reason is that the exercise of drawing a bird is an invaluable approach to learning, retaining, and communicating the visual information present in each individual bird. In short, it is an imperative part of studying the world of birds.

Diversifying learning techniques is always fruitful for gaining and retaining knowledge. These techniques may prove helpful to others. The goal of ornithologi`art is to encourage more birders to seek out creative ways to strengthen their skills.
