The Rough-legged Hawk- A Video Short For HawkWatch International
by Bryce W. Robinson
I produced this video for HawkWatch International to help support their citizen science programs, specifically their winter raptor surveys. If you would like to be involved in their winter surveys, or any other citizen science programs they currently have, you can find out more at http://www.hawkwatch.org.
That was great B! The Rough-legged hawk is indeed a fine bird.
Thanks Melissa. I hope some wandering lagopus makes its way to southern California for you this year. Hey, it could happen. 🙂
Neat, neat, neat! Your narration made it special.
Have you ever seen the movie, “Never Cry Wolf”? Your narration, the respect you have for the animal, the tone of your voice, all of it reminded me instantly of “Tyler” (the “watcher”), the biologist in the movie, as he talked about his wonder for the arctic and for his beloved wolves. Might be worth a look-see if you haven’t seen it…
Thanks Ron. I have seen, and read, Never Cry Wolf. I love that story, and his diction. I have always envied those that speak eloquently about the natural world. It is a lifelong aspiration of mine to emulate nature writers such as Farley Mowat.
I should have known…
I also read the book and I showed that video to my bio and zoo students for years. I can’t believe how strongly your narration brought back the memories. It was so good (your narration) that it was almost like you had a script.
I really appreciate the compliment Ron. It means a lot.
